Kicking off phase 2 of the campaign

This week was busy for me! I started off the week by launching my fundraising campaign for Earth Day to Memorial Day.

On Tuesday morning, I volunteered at the Waltham Fields Community Farm in honor of Earth Day, helping (along with many other volunteers) to plant leeks and cover rows of cabbages with a protective cloth.

On Thursday morning, I attended the Coffee and Conversation event at the Waltham Family School, having wonderful conversations with adult language learners who wanted to practice their English.

On Friday evening, I attended the annual Sprout Benefit hosted at the Lyman Estate to raise funds for the Waltham Fields Community Farm.

On Saturday, I hosted a “commercial” booth, providing a water-refill & relaxation station at the annual Sheepshearing Festival at historic Gore Place. At this booth, I offered free water and a shady place to sit for anyone in attendance. I was most excited to greet any Waltham residents and discuss the topics and issues they are most concerned about. However, I was also joined by 2 other Forward Party volunteers from Western Mass. We introduced folks from across the state to the ideals and platform of the Massachusetts Forward Party, and we collected signatures for a Political Designation Petition, which will allow the Forward Party to start organizing more formally in Massachusetts with recognition from the Secretary of the Commonwealth’s office.
